Getting Authorised

FCA Applications

Before undertaking investment business in the UK you must be authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”) and hold all relevant permissions.

Applications are by nature one-off projects but they involve a time-consuming process usually over several months.

Richwell undertake to write, submit and manage the application process from start to finish (i.e. to authorisation).

This includes working with you to:

  • Establish the regulatory permissions required
  • Liaise with lawyers, tax and any other consultants who provide structural advice and legal documentation
  • Complete all relevant FCA forms
  • Collate all information required and create supporting documents
  • Produce the regulatory financial budget
  • Draft the business continuity  / disaster recovery plan
  • Provide tailored regulatory compliance collateral (Compliance Manual, Compliance Monitoring Programme)
  • Manage the communication with the FCA
  • Offer support and assistance as needed throughout the process

Changing Permissions

Richwell assist with Variation of Permission applications.

  • e.g. the European wide Alternative Investments Fund Management Directive (“AIFMD”) to be a full scope AIFM or a Small AIFM
  • Change of Control requests etc.
